About the Readers...
I have loved reading since I was very young and have always enjoyed the fantasy genre above all. A few of my favorite books and stories include "The Wizard of Oz," "Redwall," and the works of H.P. Lovecraft. I don't read very often, but I enjoy reading and find it very relaxing in short bursts. I generally read on a bed or against a wall in my house, but my allergies make it difficult for me to read outside frequently. I like most books, but I do not enjoy romances or nonfiction novels due to the subject matter or the limitations--if I'm reading something I want to have some way to escape the current world, not to be bound to the arbitrary rules that this world is trapped in. Many of my favorite characters in literature tend to be the protagonists of the story due to how well written they seem to be. One of my best experiences with reading happened about five years ago when I was reading "The Wizard of Oz" and I was so tired that I would read about ten pages, fall asleep and dream about what I had just read, wake up, read ten pages, dream about what I had just read, etc. for about four hours until I eventually slept through the night. It was amusing to hear my brothers talk about the cycle that I was stuck in for most of the night.

I read much less than I would like to admit, but I can usually find some enjoyment in it. I usually don't finish the books that I start because I would rather work on my other responsibilities that I deem more important. Reading is probably fourth or fifth on my list of priorities, so as with most thing I haven't spent enough time with it to form very many concrete opinions. I generally like reading many of the subgenres that fall under science fiction, but get too distracted to follow through and finish most books that I start. I believe that one of the first books that got me interested in reading was "The Magicians Nephew", but I gave up on that book for about three or four years before starting over. My favorite books include "The Invention of Hugo Cabret", "Fahrenheit 451", and "Under the Dome", but I haven't finished any of them except for "Fahrenheit 451". I haven't spent enough time with books to grow strong connections to them except for the fond memories of reading Dr. Seuss books to my sister while my mum cooked dinner for us.

I am too easily bored to focus on reading or homework, so I simply decide not to. It really doesn't help that I really only enjoy graphic novels, but I don't make enough time for reading. Homework is a requirement, my family makes up most of my natural social life, and I find other forms of media to be more stimulating and thus more interesting than reading. Most of what I do read is some form of graphic novel due to the artistic style of different authors and the added stimulation of having something to look at besides plain text on a plain background. A few of my favorite series include "Assassination Classroom," "Soul Eater," and "One Piece." I really only read if it is required or when I have nothing else to do, but I avoid reading when given the choice to do nearly anything else.
